LEARNING TO SLOW DOWN
After a few weeks of feeling a little overwhelmed, down and just not quite myself – I realised I needed to take a step back and really think about my priorities more. Luckily I now have 3 weeks off work to enjoy less stressful days of not constantly looking at my watch and also a little time to wind down at the end of my days. I’m always an advocate for self care but the hardest part of that is always practising what I preach. A little sunshine, a little self care, recharging my batteries and some time with Tony, Isabelle & Max and already I feel so much more in tune with myself and everyone else. I’d love for you all to take a little time for yourself this week whether that’s a pamper night, time with friends or tackling something that’s been playing on your mind – you’re the most important thing in your life!
Sadly, mum guilt is something that affects us all and we feel guilty for spending time on ourselves rather than our family once in a while. Putting myself first is something that never sits well with me but, as the saying goes,
‘You can’t pour from an empty cup, take care of yourself first’!
