HELLO OCTOBER 2019
How are we already in October? My birthday month, cosy blankets, snuggles, candles, pumpkins, Autumn colours. There’s nothing nicer than a crisp Autumn day when it’s cold but sunny and your senses are awash with all the gorgeous Autumn colours and smells. Last month and the beginning of this month are extremely busy at work so I’m really looking forward to my birthday on the 24th when I’m having a bit of time off to relax and enjoy some family & leisure time. Bliss!!

LIFESTYLE, LEISURE, PLACES & HOME
Putting some Autumnal touches to my home
I always love a new season and I enjoy putting touches of the season into our home. Autumn is full of gorgeous colours and aromas and there’s something very comforting in putting the fire on, lighting candles and cozying up to watch your favourite to show. The first thing I always do is change my candles to fit the season and at the moment I’m loving Yankee Candle Autumn Pearl.
I also love to put a wreath up in my kitchen to suit the season. I love my Autumn one which is made up of lovely browns and oranges with seasonal leaves and flowers mixed with mini pumpkins.
Lighting is something that affects my mood greatly and I’ve recently replaced some of my lamps, ceiling lights and had wall lights fitted. The overall effect is much cosier in the living areas and the kitchen and bathrooms look much brighter and fresher.
Lastly I’ve replaced my cushions on my living room sofas for faux rabbit fur ones to give the room a warm softer feel and they’re also extremely comfortable.
BEAUTY, HEALTH & STYLE
A friend recommended Birchbox so last month I subscribed for Isabelle and myself to share each month. There’s always something exciting about waiting for a monthly subscription and knowing each month we’re able to try new brands and makes of makeup, skin care & hair care is lovely and I’m looking forward to reviewing some new products. The subscription is an initial cost of £. Then £ monthly payments which you can cancel at any time etc etc etc
COCKTAIL OF THE MONTH
Apple & Gin Autumn Cocktail
100ml apple juice
25ml elderflower liqueur
25ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
Apple wheels and a lemon peel
Half fill a shaker with ice. Add the gin, elderflower, lemon and apple juice and shake until combined. Strain into an ice filled hurricane glass and garnish with an apple wheel and a thin twist of lemon peel.
FILM OF THE MONTH
To say I’ve been looking forward to this is a complete understatement! I adored the series and still miss it on a Sunday evening to this day.
Oh ‘Downton’ you really didn’t disappoint. It was everything I wanted and more. The sight of the beautiful castle on the big screen was simply stunning and the opening credits gave me goosebumps. I adored this wonderful film from start to finish, to see all the familiar characters back was so comforting and will put Downton lovers straight back into their ‘happy place’. Everyone’s storylines tied in beautifully and it was aesthetically stunning to watch.
I’m just desperate to go back and watch it again next week!
